Corduroy Champetre Bouquet Jacket Harvest Brown

A loose fitting, button-front jacket cut from a remarkably soft, seven-whale corduroy, developed exclusively for Cottle, that bears a surprising density. Features a classic collar, invisible-welt hand pockets with pocket bags cut from a soft slubby Garabou cotton, a clean finished yoke lined with Garabou cotton, a dropped back hem with split side seams, and an extended two-layer cuff at the sleeve intended to be styled rolled back. Easy proportions with dropped shoulders offer a soft, roomy silhouette that highlights the unique plush drape of the corduroy while offering a sense of timeless utility. Constructed using single needle flat felled seams for durability and lined sleeves for comfort; buffalo horn buttons.

Cottle's custom corduroy is an exercise in balancing two opposing desires: density and softness. The result, woven from only the finest "ultimate" pima cotton, is an all-season corduroy that is neither exhaustively heavy nor delicately light. 

The "harvest brown" dye is a multi-step process developed by Cottle to achieve what they believe is the "ideal" brown. Requiring the cotton is treated first with a mordant solution succeeded by three distinct natural dyes, the colour is achieved through the complex layering of the four pigmented baths. Referencing the monicker "golden wheat" that Cottle has assigned to their corduroy fabric, this colour is so named for its resemblance to a mature field post harvest. Natural dyes are living dyes and will evolve with wear and washing, fading with rich patina as they are exposed to light and life.
