Produced by Technivorm, which was founded by Gerard Clement Smit, the Moccamaster was designed under the guiding principle of engineering the best cup of coffee possible. His research lead him to collaborate with the Norwegian Coffee Association, which is dedicated to the correct way to brew coffee. This partnership heavily informed the design of the original Moccamaster, and all subsequent models.
