Now in its third edition, this catalogue offers a unique insight into the life and work of the French artist, sculptor and ceramicist Valentine Schlegel. It features a large iconography, archives, and texts by sculptor and Schlegel specialist Hélène Bertin. Schlegel can be considered one of the most important ceramists of the 1950s. She conceived her works as sculptures inspired by nature, primitive but sophisticated at the same time. An extensive look at her sculpted interiors and architectural elements in plaster, especially the numerous fireplaces she created, is also featured.
