A, now signature, loose fitting zip-front jacket cut from a crisp, midweight, naturally dyed cotton/washi twill in kakishibu brown. Features a classic collar with a hidden stand, a polished two-way Lampo zipper, dual entry pockets at the waist with top and side openings, and a gusseted cuff detail. Wide proportions through the body combine with sloping dropped shoulders and a dramatic taper to the waist using elastic for a pleasing bloused silhouette. Completed with a full lining in a fine, undyed organic cotton typewriter cloth a long lasting, fully encased finish.
The Cotton Washi Twill is woven in Japan and balances the softness of cotton against the dry, cool, breathable touch of the washi. Kakishibu dyeing, blending fermented persimmon extract with iron based mordants, produces a colourfast, rich brown with subtle variation throughout. Dyed at a small workshop in Okayama, operated by only two people, pushing the boundaries of small-scale experimentation.
