WAKA WAKA is a project focusing on furniture and utilitarian objects designed and handmade by Japanese-American maker, Shin Okuda in Los Angeles. Its moniker comes from the song lyric, “I waka waka waka – I go many places," which is from the song "Coffin for Head of State" by Nigerian musician, Fela Kuti. Waka Waka originated in association with Iko Iko gallery in LA and is only available by custom order or at select retailers.
