Known for its bold and colourful prints, Marimekko became a household name in the 1960s, known for it's simple silhouettes as a counterpart to the printed textiles. The company expanded into housewares, and took a break from fashion. As of 2015, they hired Anna Teurnell from & Other Stories as their creative director, and are bringing back the classic patterns and clean shapes.
