A rectangular, gusseted, zip-closure tote cut from MAN-TLE's signature heat treated nylon cloth in black. Features a heavy YKK zip at the closure, dual carry handles at the opening, and a single longer strap that can be worn either over the shoulder or cross body. Minimally constructed without interior pockets, the longer shape is ideally suited to daily essentials for work or leisure. Finished with heavy bound seams throughout for a hard wearing finish that is built to last.
MAN-TLE’s nylon cloth is produced in Fukui in close collaboration with a local mill. The cloth is boiled in a chloride solution, causing it to shrink permanently, producing the characteristic crinkled surface and a tighter weave that imparts structural water resistance. Both the technique and appearance of the cloth pay homage to traditional techniques used in the production of Japanese Obi belts wherein silk is boiled in sea water.
