This piece is a historical reproduction of a top from the 1920s-1930s, made of colorful filet lace with a heavy beaded trim. Filet lace is a type of lace built by darning patterns into a fine mesh ground. It is thought to have originated in fishing communities who adapted their net-making for decorative use. This style is made from strips of whimsical, colored filet lace and trimmed with long beaded fringe. A circular cut out placed on the inside adds a layer, avoiding the necessity of a bra.
