A relaxed fitting, cropped, zip-front jacket cut from heavy, rigid, vegetable tanned horse hide in black. Features a classic collar, a custom art-deco style zipper, welted hand pockets at the waist, buckled side waist cinches, grommetted underarm vents, and adjustable cuffs. Based on a 1930’s jacket discovered in New York, the silhouette is cut with easy shoulders that provide good range of motion while highlighting the rich structured appearance of the leather. Constructed with a full lining in a fine rayon/cotton satin for a long lasting, fully encased finish and a smooth interior; Bakelite buttons, iron buckles.
Surface dyeing methods retain the brown core of the horse hide. With wear the surface will develop a rich two-tone patina.
Custom uncoated iron hardware intended to rust with wear and washing.
