Relaxed fitting, straight legged work trousers cut from a high density, fourteen-whale cotton "tweeduroy" in a marbled charcoal melange. Feature a button fly, a button closure, front slash pockets, double half inch pleats at the waist, rear welt pockets, a buckle-back waist cinch, and inner suspender buttons. The easy straight leg sits naturally at the hips, falling with a straight column-like silhouette that balances a sense of timeless elegance with daily utility. Completed with a stitched down cuff, wide utility belt loops, and added seam allowance at the seat that can be let out if added volume is desired; Corozo buttons, iron cinch buckle.
Initially developed by Hockmeyer in Massachusetts in the 1930s, tweeduroy is a corduroy cloth that has been printed to resemble wool tweed at the surface. Used primarily for children's wear and school uniforms, it is thought to have provided a more durable alternative to wool while preserving the same appearance.
With wear and washing, the iron components will develop their own patina, aging in tandem with the trousers.
