MAN-TLE's relaxed fitting button-front shirt, designed specifically for natural dyeing, cut from an airy cotton/linen parachute cloth. Features an enlarged classic collar, a dropped left breast pocket, a clean finished rear yoke, and a flat hem. Easy proportions throughout and roomy armholes combine with the lightness of the cloth for a sense of soft, floating volume. Constructed using french seams throughout for a long lasting, elegant finish that is a joy to wear; Corozo buttons.
The Parachute Cloth is woven in Shizuoka using vintage shuttle looms and bears a light, airy crisp texture. This edition of the OD shirt is dyed using traditional Dorozome methods in Amami-Oshima by Kanai Kouegi. The process begins with a tannin rich teichiki bark extract that reacts with iron rich mud to produce a rich deep brown. The ombre effect requires 25 successive dye baths to achieve the right balance and fade quality. With wear, washing, and exposure to sunlight, the colour will evolve, taking on a life of its own.
