“Snack Sakura” began from a small curiosity while traveling in Japan, when I noticed that nearly every town had a Snack Sakura. After learning it was the most common snack bar name in the country, I decided to visit and photograph them from Okinawa to Hokkaido, exploring how each one differed and what they shared. The project became a portrait of Japan’s nightlife and the quiet charm behind a name that seems to bloom everywhere.
