In a recent interview for the online magazine/podcast Telavivian, the Israeli designer shares the inspirations behind his fledgling, new eponymous label and gives some context to the city of Tel Aviv; where the brand is based. Mayner shares that his first collection was influenced mostly by his surroundings and the culture of Jerusalem. By combining the idea of different uniforms with the dressed-down “poor tailoring” style of those who live there, he aims to provide an image of their culture that is often overseen.

Mayner compares the different ideas of fashion in Israel and France and how history influences the way they dress. As the society changes, he predicts the style of men in Tel Aviv will also evolve as people become more open to fashion and learn to embrace the unique culture that their country has to offer.

We are pleased to introduce Hed Mayner to our stocklist this season - see the collection in-store and online here.
