An easy, wide-bodied coverall jacket cut from a high density, fourteen-whale cotton "tweeduroy" in a marbled charcoal melange. Features a classic narrow collar, square patch pockets at the waist, a buckled waist cinch, and engineer's style cuffs. Serving as an ode to industrial manufacturing, the silhouette is extremely reduced in its detailing, intended "more as a tool than a garment"; generous two-piece sleeves cut for movement create volume through the back and a slight forward stance. Constructed using durable, chain stitched, flat felled seams throughout for a time-honoured, hard wearing finish; engraved, uncoated iron tack buttons throughout.
Initially developed by Hockmeyer in Massachusetts, tweeduroy is a corduroy cloth that has been printed to resemble wool tweed at the surface. Used primarily for children's wear and school uniforms, it is thought to have provided a more durable alternative to wool while preserving the same appearance.
With wear and washing, the iron components will develop their own patina, aging in tandem with the jacket.
