Alan Paine

From England
Founded in 1907

Founder, William Paine, is said to have developed some of the first cable-knit sweaters ever produced. By the start of the Second World War, Alan Paine had earned such an unparalleled reputation for quality of craftsmanship that the business was commissioned to manufacture woollen sweaters for the British Armed Forces, primarily for the Navy.

A signature of Alan Paine’s expertise, their merino wool sweaters are composed of an exclusive Australian merino wool yarn, known for its distinctive shine and soft hand. Zegna Baruffa - Lane Borgosesia, an Italian company known across the world for the highest quality standards in luxury knitwear fibres, has formulated a special Machine Washable treatment for this particular yarn. Since 1907, the hallmark of Alan Paine has been quality of craftsmanship and pursuit of innovation in luxury fibres.
