Posted on March 07, 2012 in Fabric Science, Fair Isle, Socks

For many, the surface aesthetic of a garment is a very important variable when it comes to buying that item. Lately there has been huge resurgence in investing your money into clothing that not only looks great but also is made with the utmost quality. Having a solid understanding of the history of textiles can prove useful and interesting all in the same.

Every once in a while on our blog, we will highlight one particular fabric from our current collection and share our appreciation for the way it is made. Whether it is a textured knit or a custom-dyed garment, we will explore an item (or an assortment of similar items) for all of its fabric qualities. By educating ourselves about the technicalities and production methods of a certain piece, we hope to educate our customers and demonstrate the lengths that companies endure to create a truly well made item of clothing.
