Changing Seasons

Posted on September 19, 2011 in featured

Vancouver’s weather is slowly changing and it is starting to dawn on us that the dreary, wet season is approaching. In light of this we put together a casual look that will be sure to keep you dry and warm while also allowing you to maintain flexibility through layers while the temperature is fluctuating. Patrik Ervell F/W 2011 Field Coat

Posted on August 06, 2011 in featured

Many labels have done their own version of the M-65 field coat but Patrik Ervell’s sticks out from the rest. The M-65 coat was introduced by the US military in 1965 and was predominantly used during the Vietnam War. Patrik Ervell’s version replicates the details of the original jacket by featuring a stow-away hood that rolls up and zips into a pouch on the back of the neck, a detachable wool lining, velcro fasteners on the cuffs, four large front pockets and a drawstring waist. Additional details include metal snaps that will age to a dark antique copper as well as the jacket being made from a heavy but soft to the touch cotton moleskin. Click here to see more.

Golden Bear for Neighbour

Posted on July 30, 2011 in featured, new product

Golden Bear is a San Francisco based company that has been making outerwear since 1922. The company is specifically known for their varsity/letterman jacket that is usually given to student athletes or groups that achieve certain goals or graduate from a school team. This is where the name letterman jacket derives from. The letter patch sewn into the jacket usually represents the first letter in the school’s name. There are more looks and product images of the varsity jackets we did with Golden Bear along with a few more words if you read more

Patrik Ervell Fall/Winter 2011

Posted on July 23, 2011 in featured

I am always excited to see Patrik Ervell’s collection and show each season. Both always seem to be thoughtful, concise and interesting at the same time. His collection is also easily transferrable from the runway to an everyday wardrobe. We received a few Spring/Summer pieces that are now on sale and are expecting our full Fall/Winter 2011 selection in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime above is Patrik Ervell’s runway show for the upcoming season. The aviation inspired collection features white parachutes, industrial size fans, flight suits and music by Sioxsie and the Banshees.

We are now approaching three months since we first opened and thought we would share the lookbook that we put together. The lookbook highlights some of the collections we carry as well as some images of our shop which was designed by Kyle Garner at Sit and Read. The photographs were taken by our talented friend Jennilee Marigomen and styled by our other talented friend Redia Soltis. We also want to thank everyone for your continued support. It has been an exciting past few months! Click here to see the full lookbook.

Le Labo Santal 26 Candle

Posted on June 22, 2011 in featured

What can we say about Le Labo's Santal 26 except that it is probably the best candle ever! It is our store scent and now is available for purchase in store and online. We know it is difficult to purchase a candle without smelling it but trust us on this one! Thanks to Old Faithful for the cactus in the image above.

Il Bussetto Leather Goods

Posted on June 19, 2011 in featured

Il Bussetto is an Italian small leather goods manufacturer based out of Milan. Il Bussetto still uses an ancient Italian technique that involves drenching their Cuoio leather in water and placing them on wooden forms to achieve the desired shape. Each piece is then hand brushed with iron instruments called “bussetti”, then waxed and buffed resulting in a glowing finish. The colours are bold, bright and completely natural.

We just received our initial order of bi-folds wallets, card case, zip wallets and traditional wallets. Hope you enjoy them!

Look One: Comfortable Weekend

Posted on May 27, 2011 in featured

The weekend should be a time for relaxing and recharging from the past week.  I know for many this may not seem like an ideal outfit for a late May weekend but it is perfect for rainy/chilly weather, similar to what we are experiencing in Vancouver. We have received glimpses of the sunshine but nothing more. This outfit features our newly received Unis Gio, a Martin Keehn leather hooded sweatshirt, Aurora handmade shoes, a Drifter tote, and the 100 series Uniform Wares watch. The outfit lands on that thin line of feeling comfortable but not looking like a slouch.
